womens roles

In the two stories that we read I could clearly see that women's roles have changed. I don't think that men and women are consitered completely equal, however things have considerably changed for the better. Tom boys are definatly more excepted. I myself have never really experienced any pressure to be a "girl" but I must admit that I do feed into the "girl" sterotype. I mean in that I wear make up and do my hair (sometimes.) However I dont think thats because I feel that I have to, I just find it fun. Overall I do believe that the role of women has greatly inproved since the time the stories were writen. I think there was a lot of pressure on girls to be perfect and look flawless. I think that there is still a lot of pressure on women to be flawless, perfect hair, perfect body, perfect clothes and such. I don't think that all the pressure was because of men either. Although a lot of it is centered around men.
